In 2001, Politeknik Informatika Del (PI Del) was established to give access for highly achieved students in remote areas with poor economics background good education to internationally high quality education, especially those from North Sumatera.

In 2013, PI Del evolved becoming technology institute. Institut Teknologi Del (IT Del) was founded not only to reinforce nation’s competition capacity in terms of information technology, biotechnology and business but more to give contribution to the local government to make a prosperous society.

Situated near Lake Toba, 400 km from Medan, IT Del is expected to create calm environment which will support the students in their study, far away from noise and crowd in cities and industrial areas.

IT Del consists of three faculties and eight study programs, which are:
1. Faculty of Informatics and Electrical Engineering

• S1 Information System
